JOGJA TRIP NOV'24

Maria Regina School is taking education to the next level by bringing SHS Reginians to Yogyakarta for a community immersion experience. On day one, students engaged in hands-on activities such as making chocolates, feeding and milking cows and goats, learning hydroponics, preparing salak (snake fruit), arranging flowers, and harvesting chili peppers.

When learning is both meaningful and fun, students thrive and they can also experience the beauty of simple living while serving the community in humble ways.

Our beloved SHS Reginiansl had an immersive experience learning the art of gamelan, playing instruments together. This activity not only deepened their appreciation for traditional Indonesian music but also strengthened their teamwork as they synchronized with the rhythm and each other.

Maria Regina Senior High School students have truly embodied the school’s core values, embracing the beauty of simple living through the acts of humble service.

The memories captured during this three-day community experience, made possible by Maria Regina School, are ones our SHS Reginians will carry with them for a lifetime. Through this unique opportunity, they were able to go beyond classroom walls, putting theory into practice and building essential life skills through hands-on activities that touched both heart and mind.

"…so that they may have life and have it to the full."

May we live each day with hearts open to life’s simplest joys. Viva Regina!
